Bebe Neuwirth

Beatrice " Bebe " Neuwirth ( born December 31, 1958 in Princeton, New Jersey) is an American dancer, theater, film and television actress.

Life

After a dance and ballet training, she began her career as a dancer, played on Broadway, including in A Chorus Line and won the 1986 Tony Award for her performance in Sweet Charity. A second she received in 1997 as best female dancer for the Broadway musical Chicago.

Known to a wider audience, it was through the presentation of the psychologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lilith Sternin in the American television series Cheers 1986-1993, a figure that they sporadically in the series Frasier ( 1993-2004) a spin-off from Cheers, and in 1992 in an episode of the series flyer ( Wings ) embodied. For the representation of Lilith Sternin Neuwirth won two Emmys.

Among the best known films include Neuwirth Green Card (Peter Weir, 1990), Bugsy ( Barry Levinson, 1991) and Celebrity ( Woody Allen, 1998).

She is the daughter of the mathematician Lee Neuwirth.
