BeBe Winans

Benjamin " BeBe " Winans ( born September 17, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American gospel and R & B singer.

BeBe Winans belongs to the large Winans family of musicians and is the younger brother of Ronald, Carvin, Marvin and Michael, which form the gospel group The Winans. For a long time he worked with the band in the background and from the mid- 80s he formed with his sister CeCe Winans a duo.

Their first common hit was 1987 single IOU Me from the debut album BeBe & CeCe Winans. Four times they were subsequently nominated for the Grammy and CeCe could reap a 1988 Grammy for best gospel singer.

The next year, BeBe even got his first Grammy for Best Gospel Singer for the song Abundant Life and a year later the same again for Mean Time from the second joint album Heaven. The album reached gold status and number 95 of the Hot 200 album charts.

The highlight of this collaboration was the 1991 album Different Lifestyles, which was certified platinum and Grammy and also # 1 on the R & B charts reaching as the two single releases Addictive Love and I'll Take You There.

After two more albums, the common ways parted. CeCe went on to a solo career and Benjamin, who had already helped produce the albums together, joined, among others, the film soundtrack for The Bodyguard in appearance, for which he received a Grammy for the production team of the year, his most recent.

1997 was followed by his first solo album. To this also included the single I Wanna Be the Only One, a collaboration with the British R & B female trio Eternal.
