Ben Monder

Ben Monder ( born May 24, 1962 in New York City ) is an American jazz guitarist.

He studied at the University of Miami and at Queens College and lives in New York, where, inter alia, with Jack McDuff, Marc Johnson, Lee Konitz, George Garzone, Tim Berne, Rashied Ali, Karl Berger, Herb Robertson, Perry Robinson, he, Michał Urbaniak, Michael Formanek, Scott McLemore, occurred in the band Right Brain Patrol with Arto Tuncboyaciyan and Marc Johnson, the Carnegie Hall Jazz Orchestra, Kenny Wheeler Large Ensemble and Guillermo Klein's Los Guachos. He is a member of the Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra, the Lee Konitz Nonet New and Paul Motian Electric Bebop of tape. With Drew Gress and Tom Rainey, he founded his own trio.

Monder toured with Jack McDuff's band and took part in the European tour of Joris Dudlis New York Project. Previously, he worked on over seventy CDs as a sideman and released several albums as a bandleader: 1995 Flux ( with Jim Black and Drew Gress ), 1997 Dust ( with Jim Black and Ben Street) and No Boat ( with Jim Black, Theo Bleckmann and Skúli Sverrisson ), 2000 Excavation ( in the cast like No Boat) and 2005 Oceana ( with Theo Bleckmann, Kermit Driscoll, Ted Poor and Skuli Sverrisson ). He also presented an album with Kristjan Randalu.
