Benin national football team

The Beninese football team ( also French Les Ecureuiles, the squirrels ), the Football Selection of Benin and was controlled by the Fédération de Football Béninoise. The team was known as the national team of Dahomey until 1975, since earlier Benin Dahomey said.

Due to the poor performance at the Africa Cup of 2010 ( from in the first round ), the national team was disbanded on 9 February 2010 with immediate effect. However, Benin later joined only half a year already again to qualify for the Africa Cup of 2012.

The team has never qualified for the World Cup, but in 2004, 2008 and 2010 for the Africa Cup.

World Cup

In qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil Benin met first on Algeria, Mali and Rwanda, against which the team could not prevail, and even before the penultimate game due to the victory of Algeria on 16 June 2013, Rwanda had no chance to qualified lifi decorate.
