Bielstein (Kaufunger Wald)

The Bielenstein ( not to be confused with the nearby Großalmerode in Kaufunger forest located Bilstein ) is a 527.8 m above sea level. NN high hill of Söhre (the part Stiftswald Kaufungen ) in the district of Kassel, North Hesse ( Germany ).

Geographical location

The Bielenstein rises in the nature park Meissner Kaufunger forest in the wooded Stiftswald Kaufungen 2 km west-southwest of the core location of Helsa, 2.5 km north of the district Eschenstruth and 4 km (distances in each air line ) southeast of Kaufungen.

Nearly 200 m ( distance) east of Biel Stone Summit is the massive natural monument Biel stone church (also Bielenstein Church or Biel stone church called ), a church -shaped basalt rock formation whose rocks have been to about 15 m tower high and probably used in pre-Christian times as a place of sacrifice.

Nearly 600 m (straight line ) northwest of Bilstein Summit located at the head Michel Michel head lakes.

Development

You can reach the Bielenstein with his Bielenstein church only on trails, for example, on the Eder- Gelster - path connecting the Eder in the West and in the East Gelster together.
