The Biratnagar airport ( ICAO code VTNT; IATA code BIR ) is a Nepalese commercial airport near the town of Biratnagar in Morang Destrikt in the Kosi Zone.

It was opened on 6 July 1958, and is the starting point for flight connections to various high mountain airfields in the east of the country, eg also to Bhojpur, Lamidanda, Phaplu, Rumjatar, Taplejung and Tumlingtar that are considered STOL airfields. This Biratnagar recorded a high volume of domestic flight connections. The main objective is by far Katmandu that is connected by flights of almost all of Operating in Biratnagar airlines.

Biratnagar is currently Flew among other things, Buddha Air, Nepal Airlines and Yeti Airlines.

It has a 1524 meter long and 30 meter wide runway (09 /27) and also allows nighttime takeoffs and landings. During three years ago the apron was extended with some parking positions, there are extensive plans for expansion of the airport, because the space the current traffic not yet hardly does justice.
