Björn Andersson

Björn Andersson ( born July 20, 1951 in Perstorp ) is a former Swedish football player.

Career

Clubs

Andersson was not yet 19 years with the squad at League Östers IF, for which he was active from 1970 to 1974 in the Allsvenskan, the highest division in Swedish football. With the end of the season, on October 27, he moved to Germany for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich for which he on 23 November (14th Round ) in a 2-2 draw at home against Rot -Weiss Essen - half time - debuted. His only Bundesliga goal he scored on 19 April 1975 ( 28th Round ), in a 3-1 win at home against Tennis Borussia Berlin, with the intermediate 1-0 in the 8th minute. In the three seasons for Bayern Andersson played 47 league, 5 DFB Cup, two World Cup games and 11 in the European Champions Cup.

1977 Andersson returned back to Sweden and still completed three seasons with his former club with whom he won the 1977 National Association Cup and 1978 the championship. Then he played another two or three seasons at Markaryds IF or Vallentuna BK.

National

Andersson played 1972-1976 28 caps for the senior national team and scored a goal. Personal highlight for him was to participate in the 1974 World Cup in Germany, where in the group III of the first final round three times, and in the group B of the second final round in the 0-1 defeat against the national team of Poland, he used to came. His last international match, he denied on April 28, 1976 in Vienna at 0:1 against the national team of Austria.

Others

Andersson was active from the mid-1990s at Bayern Munich at youth level, interrupted by an eight-month stay in Sweden IS Halmia in 2000. In the 2003 /04 season he was with Michael Henke assistant coach of Bayern. In early 2009 he returned to Sweden and took up a post with the Svenska Fotbollsakademin in Stockholm to train players and coaches.
