Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame
The Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame, Inc. ( BFHFI ) was founded in 1973 in Oakland.
It supports and promotes black film projects and preserves the contributions of African American artists, whether they act in front of or behind the camera. The nonprofit organization also supports screenings of films by and about people of African descent and awards annually in February the Oscar Micheaux Award at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland.
