Blackbuck National Park, Velavadar

The Blackbuck National Park at Velavadar, named after the black buck (English for Blackbuck ), is a National Park, which was established primarily to protect these antelope. It is located in the Indian state of Gujarat and covers an area of about 34 square kilometers. The landscape is characterized by flat, open grassland.

In the National Park, also the rare Indian wolf comes before that feeds largely on the blackbuck. In any wolf coming about 140-160 blackbuck, each of which imposes approximately 30-40 antelope per year on average. The historical maximum stock of these antelopes in the park was about 1700 animals, which would feed about 10 wolves. Other species of the area are nilgai, jungle cats, jackals and wild boar gold. Even the rare flag bustards find here a living.
