Great-Himalayan-Nationalpark

The Great Himalayan National Park ( German: Great Himalayan National Park ) is a reserve in the western Himalayas in northern India. It consists primarily of mountainous habitats and covers about 754 square kilometers. Together with the adjacent protected areas Pin Valley National Park ( 675 square kilometers) and Rupi - Bhawa Wildlife Reserve (503 square miles ) includes the protected area almost all habitats of the Western Himalayas. The protected area covers tropical to alpine climates, and also includes Tibetan steppe regions.

In the highest mountain regions snow leopard, brown bear, blue sheep, Himalayan musk deer and Tahre occur. At somewhat lower altitudes mostly below from 2000 to 3000 meters Goral, Seraus, barking deer, leopards, Asiatic black bears and rhesus monkeys live.

A total of 31 mammal species and 181 bird species in the park have been detected so far.
