Bleak House is a British television series that told in 15 episodes of the lives of people who are involved directly and indirectly with the decades- long ongoing dispute Jarndyce vs. Jarndyce. The dispute here serves more as a framework. The series is an adaptation of the novel by Charles Dickens.
Content
The mini- series is set in the UK of the 19th century. It tells the story of Esther Summerson in particular, who grew up as an orphan and is now set as a ward for the lead plaintiff in the case, Jarndyce, Richard and Hannah, of John Jarndyce. At the same time Mr. Janrdyce is also guardian of Esther.
Production and publication
Was filmed the miniseries by Andrew Davies for the BBC. The director was for the first new episodes Justin Chadwick, the consequences of 11 to 15 emerged, directed by Susanna White. Except for one 60 -minute episode all episodes are 30 minutes.
The series aired from October 27 to December 16, 2005 by BBC One for the first time. More broadcasts followed in Finland, Venezuela and Hungary. In Germany, the DVD was released on May 14, 2013, before the pay-TV channels showed the Passion series from 16 May to 4 July 2013.
