Blender is a municipality in the district of Verden in Lower Saxony in Thedinghausen. The municipality covers an area of ​​38.31 km ².

Geography

In addition to the village of Blender includes the villages of Adolf Stockhausen, Amedorf, Settin, Gahlstorf, Hiddestorf, Holtum -Marsch, Intschede, OISTE, Reer, Ritz mountains, Seestedt, Varste and angle to the community.

Nature reserve east of the center of Blender is the 6.3 hectare lake Blender. It extends in a north-south direction, is about 1000 m long, up to 100 m wide and since 1936 a nature reserve. On a 50 m long section there is a swimming area with dock and diving platform.

History

The oldest town in the municipality is OISTE that is mentioned 860. Ritz mountains and Amedorf mentioned in 935 documents. The first historical mention of Blender takes 1186 as blendere instead. Other ancient towns are Intschede that is mentioned already in 1124, as well as Hiddestorf, which is first mentioned in 1179.

The membership of the localities to offices and counties changed. Partially included the villages to the county Hoya to Verden or swarms.
