Bobrof Island

Bobrof Iceland is a small uninhabited volcanic island in the Andreanof Islands, which belongs to the Aleutian Islands. The 4 km long island is located between Iceland Kanaga and Tanaga Iceland.

Bobrof, was first recorded in 1852 by Mikhail Tebenkov as " Ostrov Bobrovoy Vilga " to German Otter Island in the charts.

The island consists mainly of the same name Bobrof volcano. This, a stratovolcano, has proven both explosive eruptions that pyroclastic flows, mainly produced in the past from andesite, as also produces effusive eruptions. More detailed information on its last eruptions can not be made, but it is estimated to be of modern origin.
