Bol d'Or

The Bol d'Or (French for Golden Bowl ) is one of the most famous 24 -hour motorcycle race. He was held for the first time in 1922 in Vaujours en Seine St Denis. In general, the Bol d'Or takes place on the third weekend in September. The race starts on Saturday at 15:00 clock and ends on Sunday at 15:00 Clock.

History

The event took place from 1978 to 1999 inclusive, the Circuit Paul Ricard in France, since 2000 finds the race on the circuit of Magny -Cours instead. The winner's trophy in the shape of a golden bowl, hence the name " Bol d' Or".

For this big event racing fans come from all over Europe. The number of viewers reached in the 1980s 120000-150000.

The Honda CB 900 F Bol d'Or was named after the race.
