The Great Kinel (Russian Большой Кинель ( Bolshoi Kinel ) ) is a right, 437 km long tributary of the Samara in the southeast of the European part of Russia.

Course

The Great Kinel rises in the northern part of Orenburg Oblast in the northern part of the ridge Obschtschi Syrt, near the border with the Republic of Bashkortostan. From there, it flows first to the northwest and west by the agricultural steppe landscape.

The river receives numerous tributaries and finally passing the city Buguruslan just before he reached the limit for Samara Oblast. He is now flowing in primarily westerly direction through the eastern part of the Samara Oblast, where it flows past Pochwistnewo in the north.

After the confluence of the Sawruschka the Great Kinel turns toward the southwest, where the Kinel- Cherkassy Selo opens the little Kinel. He then continues to flow to the southwest, past Otradny before he again turns to the intersection of Kutuluk and Sarbai to the west.

A little later reached the Great Kinel at Ust- Kinel Kinelski and the Samara, about 20 km east of Samara Oblasthauptstadt

In the ice-free period from mid-April to November, the Great Kinel is navigable in its lower reaches
