Boris Novković

Boris Novković ( born December 25, 1967 in Sarajevo) is a Croatian singer and composer.

Biography

Novković was born as the son of the composer Đorđe Novković and music teacher Ozena Novković. At the age of 12 through 15 played today's singers as a member of the junior football clubs Dinamo Zagreb football.

Boris Novković is married in second marriage with Lucija and lives in Zagreb.

Career

Already in 1986, at age 18, he published his first album, Kuda idu called izgubljene djevoke ( Tamara ), named after his first hit single, the Boris himself has written and composed. Both the album with 120,000 copies sold, and single advanced to success and helped the singer for musical breakthrough in the former Yugoslavia.

Only a year later appeared Novkovićs second studio album Jaci od sudbine, produced by Niksa Bratos. The album surpassed the success of its predecessor, with 160,000 copies sold, it is also the most commercially successful album to Dato of the singer. Especially the singles Poster cu sutra and Da te Nizam ljubio were a hit.

In 1988 the third album titled Doc svira radio. The single of the same was there again successful.

In 1999, the singer was nominated for the most important Croatian music award Zlatna Ptica in the category Best Artist.

In 2002 he won the Music Prize Kristalna gitara, awarded by Croatia Records, for more than 500,000 albums sold in the period between 1986 and 2002.

Euro Vision Song Contest

Boris Novković took part several times on both the Yugoslav and later on the Croatian preliminary decision ( " DORA " ) to the Euro Vision Song Contest.

In the years 2005 and 2006 qualified Boris Novković itself. To participate in the international competition, in 2005, he finished in the semifinals to fourth place in the final of the 11th Place

For the DORA 2009 Novković handed the title " Raduj se ", but pulled it back a little later from the competition because he found no matching singer. In May 2009, published Novković this item as " Nek se raduje " in a duet with Tony Cetinski.
