Borlänge Municipality

Borlänge is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Dalarna County and Dalarna. The main town of the municipality is Borlänge.

Attractions

The valley Frost Brunn Dalen said to have been a place for the worship of pagan gods to the Christianization of Sweden. The central square was the source Frökällan ( source of the god Freyr ), which is spilled today.

The community has many narrow paths, which are very popular with motorcyclists. During the tours, the driver usually make in the village Torsång break where a special variant of the Swedish butter bread ( Smörgås ) is offered.

In the hut Örnässtugan Gustav Wasa has hidden from the Danish pursuers. When they had tracked him down, he should be escaped by the Latrinenöffnung. There are guided tours through the house.

Places

The Borlänge municipality consists of many small towns. Only Borlänge (almost 40,000 inhabitants), the place Ornäs ( about 1000 inhabitants) and the place Torsång ( about 600 inhabitants) have a significant number of inhabitants.
