Ludvika Municipality

Ludvika is a municipality (Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Dalarna County and Dalarna. The main town of the municipality is Ludvika.

Geography

In the municipality there are hål the lake and the marsh Väsman Brittas; near the place itself is Saxdalen the mountain Saxberget, in which Långfallsgruvan, a Sulfiderzmine located.

The Social Democratic Party Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti has in the council of Ludvika and also in the parish council the most seats. The second strongest party is the Moderate Party with seven seats in the City Council and two seats on the town council. Bopartiet is acting exclusively at the local level party, which has existed since 1985. Folkkampanjen promote sjukvården (People's Campaign for Nursing ) is a new grouping.

Mayoress is Maria Pettersson ( Socialdemokraterna ).

Twin Cities

In addition, Ludvika, together with the other municipalities in Dalarna County verschwisterte a so-called " neighboring province ", the circle Viljandi in Estonia.

Economy

In 2003, 32 percent of employees worked in production ( 3,811 persons). The second most important industry was the sector of care and maintenance, in which 18 per cent were working in 2003, followed by trade and communication with 12 percent.
