Borzysław, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Borzysław ( German Burzlaff ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the Gmina Tychowo ( Tychowo ) in the powiat Białogardzki.

Geographical Location

Borzysław located 18 kilometers southeast of Białogard to the voivodeship 169 Byszyno ( Beustrin - Tychowo - Głodowa ( Goldbeck ) ). Nearest railway stations are Tychowo (3 km) or Podborsko ( Kiefheide, 2 km ) on the railway line Szczecinek - Kolobrzeg. On the eastern outskirts of the village the Liśnica ( Leitznitz ), a tributary of the Parsęta ( Persante ) flows.

History

Through an urn Fund in 1918 on the Burzlaffer cemetery can be detected in pre-Roman times 400 to 100 BC for the early settlement of the place.

In the 13th century the manor " Burizlaf " is called, which is owned by the family of verses. It remained in the possession of this family until 1945 with his last owner Friedrich of verses.

In 1865, 409 residents lived in Burzlaff. At that time there were in the village 36 houses, a manor house, a school building, 33 outbuildings, a factory, a brick kiln, a brick barn and two mills.

In 1939 lived in the 1393.4 acre community 309 inhabitants, of whom 207 worked in the agriculture and forestry, 41 in industry and crafts and 27 in trade and transport. There was in the village a tailor, a shoemaker and a construction business sowi an inn with operating room and grocery trade. Last mayor before 1945 was William Roggenbuck. The place was in the District Court area Belgard, and police duties were incumbent Oberland hunters from Riedel Tychowo. The competent registry office was in Tychowo.

Beginning in March 1945 Burzlaff was occupied by Soviet troops. It came to executions and disappearances. In the same year the expulsion of the indigenous population began. Burzlaff became Polish and today as Borzysław to Gmina Tychowo in powiat Białogardzki.

Church

Burzlaff had no church of their own. Kirchdorf was Tychowo Church in Belgard county in Pomerania church of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union. The Burzlaffer church patronage recently served Rittergutsbesitzer Friedrich of verses, and the last German minister was Pastor Werner Braun. Today Borzysław lies in the parish of Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church.

Burzlaff was made famous by the so-called stable stone. By 1945 he was on the - to see the cemetery - now destroyed. The devil is said to have these boulders hurled at the building of the church in Tychowo, but misses his target. After the Second World War, the stable stone was placed in a barn.
