Boston Manor tube station

Boston Manor is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Hounslow. It is named after the manor house in the area and is located in the Travelcard Zone 4 at Boston Manor Road. In the year 2011 there were 1.89 million passengers these from the Piccadilly Line station.

The opening of the station took place on 1 May 1883, when the Metropolitan District Railway ( predecessor of today's District Line ) took the distance between Acton Town and Hounslow Town in operation. On June 13, 1905 reversed after completion of the electrification of the first electric trains on the route. In the beginning was the station Boston Road; it received its present name on 11 December 1911. On March 13, 1933 held in Boston Manor first trains on the Piccadilly line. Since October 9, 1964 runs only the Piccadilly Line to the west of Acton Town section because the District line was shortened.

Between 1932 and 1934 the old station building was replaced by a new building, designed by Charles Holden in the Art Deco style. It is made of red bricks, reinforced concrete and glass. About the hall stands a square tower. Since 2002, the building is a listed building (Grade II).
