Božičany

Božičany ( German Poschetzau ) is in Okres Karlovy Vary ( Karlovy Vary region ), Czech Republic.

History

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1359 ( Poschytzaw ), which was settled by the Slavs in the 7th century. The heaviest period witnessed the population during the Thirty Years War, when the charges to the 30 - to 40 -fold were lifted and people had to work all week. 1679 cut off the plague from a large part of the population. The population was 1850 276 people, rose to 1939 in 1143 and now stands at 570
