Braine (Aisne)
Braine is a commune with 2196 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Aisne in the Picardie region; it belongs to the district of Soissons and is the capital of the Canton of Braine.
Geography
The municipality of Braine is on the Vesle, about 15 kilometers east of Soissons and 37 kilometers north-west of Reims.
History
A county Braine was founded in the 11th century and later united with the County of Champagne.

- The Abbey of Saint - Yved from the 5th century, belonging to the Premonstratensians since 1130, was the necropolis of the Capetian counts of Dreux. It is classified as a monument historique.
- Vaulted cellar of the former castle Le Bas (Château du Bas ) of the 17th century
- So-called " Spanish House ", a half-timbered house dating from the 15th century
