Brakna Region

Brakna (Arabic ولاية البراكنة, DMG Wilāyat al - Barākina ) is the third of the 13 administrative regions in Mauritania.

Brakna is a relatively small, located in the southwest region of the country, bordering the Senegal, separated by the river Senegal, as well as the other regions Tagant, Assaba and Gorgol.

The region's capital is Aleg and another important city is Bogue. Brakna divided into five districts Aleg, M'Bagne, Bababé, Boghe and Magta Lahjar.
