Brett Garsed

Brett Garsed ( born April 20, 1963 in Victoria, Australia) is an Australian fusion guitarist.

Biography

Garsed began at the age of 12 years to play the guitar. After about five years, he began lessons in classical guitar to take in order to enhance its finger picking technique.

In 1986 with John Farnham, he recorded the album Whispering Jack, which became the best-selling album in Australia. By 2006, over 1.68 million copies sold. It reached 24 times platinum status. This was followed by sold-out concert tours of Australia and Europe.

From the year 1989 he played in the rock band Nelson. The debut album After the Rain from the year also 1991wurde a success and sold over 3 million times.

Throughout his career, he played with the following musicians: TJ Helmerich, Derek Sherinian, Bobby rock, Gary Willis and Dennis Chambers.

Style and influences

His early influences included the main Ritchie Blackmore, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour and Jimi Hendrix. Later, Leo Kottke, Rory Gallagher and Edward Van Halen were among his influences.
