Březůvky

Březůvky ( German Brzesuwek, 1939-1945 Bresuwek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers south of Zlín and belongs to Okres Zlín.

Geography

Březůvky located in Vizovice Bergland. The village is located on the right side of the creek Březůvecký creek in a valley. To the north rises the Kamenec ( 496 m), in the northeast of Klencov (536 m ) east of the Bába ( 635 m) and the Čertův kámen (542 m), in the southeastern Obersky ( 483 m ) south of the Kamenná ( 483 m ) and in the southwest of Kamenec ( 394 m).

Neighboring towns are Humence, Horni Paseky Paseky and Jaroslavické Paseky in the north, Pod Koňským, Závrší and Provodov in the northeast, Malenisko and Kopanice in the east, Mlýny and Pradlisko the southeast, Vrchy, Bečáky, Ludkovice and Hrivinuv Újezd ​​in the south, Doubravy and Záhumenice in southwest, Strážné, Šarovy and Bohuslavice u Zlína in the west and Březnice in the northwest.

History

In the 14th century in Vizovice Bergland a number of castles guard emerged to protect the area against the incursions of the Hungarians, and Tatars. To the east were the castles Světlov and Rýsov, northwest of the castle Malenovice. The first written record of belonging to the reign Malenovice village Brzezuowka place in the year 1406. During the second half of the 15th century, the town was burnt down during the power struggles between Matthias Corvinus and Georg von Podiebrad and later deserted entirely by epidemics. 1573 sold Burian Tettauer of Tettau ( Burjan Tetour Tetova z ) together with Doubravy also the desert village Brzezuwek Wenzel Gajowsky of Gaja ( Václav Gájovský z GAJE ). This left the desert village recolonize in 1580. Between 1589 and 1592 Gajowsky Bržiezuwky and Doubravy sold to Johann Hans von Scharatitz (Jan Hanus ze Šaratic ), which struck the villages of his estate Velky Ořechov. 1652 the estate Velky Ořechov was connected to the rule Uherský Brod. In 1671 the village was called Bržezuwka and 1720 as Bržezuwek. The first village school was founded in 1817. Until the mid-19th century Bržezuwek remained subservient always Uherský Brod.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bržezuwek formed in 1850 a municipality in the district administration and the judicial district of the Uherský Brod. Its inhabitants lived by agriculture. Today's local name Březůvky is in use since 1872. 1898 resulted in a new school building. The intention at the beginning of the 20th century construction of a church was prevented by the outbreak of the First World War. In 1923 the village was the new judicial district Zlín and Zlín after the survey of the district town in 1935 also assigned to the political district Zlín. 1935, a forestry association was formed which acquired 180 acres of stately forest for sale. In the following years, a cemetery was established in Březůvky. From 1950 the congregation to Okres Gottwaldov - okolí and from 1960 was again Okres Gottwaldov, the back bears the name Okres Zlín after the political changes since 1990.
