Brieselang

Brieselang is a municipality and to the east of the county land Havel in Brandenburg ( Germany ). Today's (large) municipality was created from the existing 1992 to 2003 Office Brieselang by the inclusion of the smaller member communities in the municipality Brieselang.

Geography

Geographical Location

The community is located 15 kilometers west front of Berlin -Spandau at the intersection of Berlin motorway ring, Havel canal and railway line between Berlin and Hamburg within the Berlin glacial valley. The center of Berlin is 30 kilometers. The municipality parts Bredow and Zeestow are, however, already on the slopes of the Nauen plate that limits the glacial valley to the south. Until the city of Potsdam is 25 kilometers. In the immediate vicinity of the south-eastern edge of the village there is the Nymphensee, one of the cleanest lakes in Brandenburg.

Community structure

The community Brieselang divided according to the main statutes in addition to the nucleus in two districts

  • Bredow and
  • Zeestow was first mentioned in 1346 as Zcesto documented. The name is derived from the personal name Tschest.

History

The first mentioned was the place in 1315 under the name Wendish " Brisenlank " ( "Birch land " ) as upstream fortification of the Office Vehlefanz. 1315, the town of Nauen by the Marquis Woldemar got the Holzungsgerechtigkeit "inter Paludes seu merica dictas Zuzen et Brisenlank super totum Glyn usque ad terram Bellin " award (see also: The Zootzen ). The district Bredow was already mentioned in 1208 in connection with a pastor Dietrich to Bredow. 1309 gave the Margrave Woldemar the Vogt Matthias von Bredow to Rathenow for 206 silver marks the village Bredow, included the one Lord of Brösicke ( Braseke ) up to six feet.

In 1925 Brieselang was founded as an independent country community. Your name goes back to the landscape designation, which also mentions Theodor Fontane in his travel narratives. The tiny hamlet of Old Brieselang will have the most of them from Berlin settlers given the name who were in the then wet the area with the great oak woods a place to stay in the green for their families on the run from the Berlin tenements. The time limit was repealed with effect from 28 July 1994. With the local government reform in 2003, the Brandenburg municipalities Bredow and Zeestow were incorporated on 26 October 2003 in the town Brieselang. The Office Brieselang was dissolved and the community Brieselang official free.

Flag

» The flag can be used on a cross of wood, on a longitudinal wood and as a banner. In the suspension on a cross of wood the flag is divided by two equal horizontal strips arranged in the colors green and white. The green color is in the upper half. The municipal coat of arms is placed standing in the middle and overlaps both colors. Attractions

Due to the relatively short history of nuclear development community there are few historical buildings. For those interested in the settlement Brieselang provides a good overview of the settlement forms, architectural styles and architectural manifestations of home construction since the 1920s to the present day.

In the list of monuments in Brieselang are registered in the list of monuments of the country Brandenburg monuments.

Churches

  • The Protestant church Brieselang was built in 1931 to designs by the architect Kladower Rettig.
  • The Catholic Church of St. Mary was built in 1970; their windows are since 2010 with the modern glass art cycle "Maria" by Berlin artist Andreas Wolff painted.
  • The village church Zeestow of 1850 2011 was rebuilt to motorway church.
  • The New Apostolic Church in Brieselang was built in 1953 and deconsecrated in February 2013. On the same grounds, a larger building was constructed for the approximately 100 believers in 2013. This new building was inaugurated in March 2014.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

Brieselang has a station on the Berlin- Hamburg railway. Travel times by regional train to Berlin -Spandau be about 15 to 20 minutes ( twice an hour ), then once an hour to Berlin - Zoologischer Garten about 25 to 33 minutes and the Ostbahnhof 42 to 50 minutes. The lines of Havelbus transport company connect Brieselang with Falkirk ( line 656), Nauen ( line 667) and Wustermark ( line 649 ).

Brieselang also owns its own motorway junction to the " Berliner Ring " (A 10). Take the A 10, the state capital Potsdam in about 30 minutes, the Berlin city motorway network and also the subsequent immediately to the west of Berlin highways to Rostock and Hamburg, Magdeburg and Leipzig can be achieved in the short term. In Brieselang there are three schools:

  • The Robinson Elementary School has a foreign language profile, and in 2001 was the largest elementary school in Germany.

  • Hans Klakow (1899-1993), sculptor, lived since 1931 in Brieselang.
  • Hilde Benjamin (1902-1989), Minister for Justice in East Germany, since 1942 owned a garden plot in Brieselang on which they lived for a time.
  • Rudolf Peschel (1931-1989), painter, lived since 1959 in Brieselang.
  • Charlotte Krause ( born 1930 ), teacher, home of poet, author of the Brieselang - song, lives in Brieselang since 1953.
