Brizon, Haute-Savoie

Brison, also written Brison, is a village in Haute - Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Brison, located at about 1000 m above sea level. M., southeast of Bonneville, about 30 km southeast of the city of Geneva (air line). The mountain village is located south of the Arvetals in the hollow of a page of Bach's bronze, in the northern Bornes Alps (part of the Savoy Alps ), in Faucigny.

The area of ​​10:39 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the Bornes Alps. The northern boundary runs along the bronze, a gorge-like cut into the ambient side of the river Arve. From here, the municipality's area extends to the southwest, the catchment area of ​​the village of Bach's Brizon occupies and extends to the broad saddle of Solaizon (around 1500 m above sea level. To Brizon the settlement Solaizon part (1502 m above sea level. M. ) on the high plateau of the saddle the same name. Neighboring communities of Bonneville Brizon are in the north, Mont- Saxonnex the east and Le Petit- Bornand -les- Glière in the West.

Attractions

The village church of Brizon was built in the 19th century. In the old village houses are preserved, showing the typical style of a Savoyard mountain village.

Population

With 457 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Brison is one of the small towns in the Haute-Savoie region. During the 20th century, the population steadily increased due to high levels of emigration from (1901 were still in Brizon counted 598 inhabitants). Since the early 1980s, however, a slight increase in population was recorded again.

Economy and infrastructure

Brison was until well into the 20th century a predominantly coined by farming village. Today there are various operations of small businesses. Many workers are commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work. In recent decades, Brizon has developed into a resort and thus receive a significant economic upturn. The community is specialized in both the summer tourism as well as on winter tourism ( cross-country skiing on the high plateau of Solaizon ).

The village region has a quite well developed. The main access is from Thuet east of Bonneville. Another road connection with Mont- Saxonnex. The nearest links to the A40 motorway is located at a distance of about 8 km.
