Brod nad Tichou

Brod nad Tichou ( German Bruck am Hammer) is a municipality with 225 inhabitants ( 1 January 2004) in the Czech Republic. It is located 4 km south of the city Plana at an altitude of 468 m on the hammer Bach ( Hamerský Potok, on the lower reaches also called Ticha ) and belongs to the Okres Tachov on. History

The first mention of Bruck is from the year 1243. The town was at a junction of the trade route from Nuremberg to plan and Haid on the hammer creek. In the 14th century the place Prukke or Latin Pons and Czech Brod was called. On the outskirts was formerly an old castle, of which nothing remains. Near them was in 1322 the Parish Church of St..
