Brognard

Brognard is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Brognard is located on 340 m above the sea, about six kilometers east-northeast of the city of Montbéliard (air line). The village is located in the northeast of the basin of Montbéliard, a slightly elevated position above the broad valley at the confluence of Savoureuse and Allan.

The area of ​​2.90 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the gently undulating countryside in the Burgundian Gate ( trouée de Belfort ). The western part of the area occupied by the approximately 1.5 km wide valley of Savoureuse, which is on average 320 m. The communal land is not enough to the river, but he has several lakes ( Étangs de Brognard ), which resulted from the filling of former sand and gravel pits and today serve as a water sports center and recreation area of Montbéliard and Belfort. To the south, the municipality's area extends into the valley of Allan. History

Population

With 463 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Brognard one of the small communities of the department of Doubs.
