Stage is a district of the city Osterwieck in the district of Harz in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geographical Location

The place is located in the northern Harz foreland near the Ilse, north-west of Osterwieck and southeast of the city Hornburg in Lower Saxony.

History

Stage belonged until 1648 to the diocese of Halberstadt and then got to the Principality of Halberstadt. The place was directly subordinated to the Office Stötterlingenburg - Wülperode and arrived in 1815 at the Magdeburg Region of the Prussian Province of Saxony. In 1961 the place was right in the frontier region of the GDR and was accessible only with a special permit.

On January 1, 2010, the formerly independent communities stage, Aue- Fallstein, Berßel, Lüttgenrode, Rhodes, shows and Wülperode joined with the city Osterwieck together for new city Osterwieck.
