Geography

Guarantees Vöstenhof located in the southern industrial area in Lower Austria, north of the valley of the Schwarza. The area of ​​the municipality covers 25.12 square kilometers. 85.26 percent of the area is forested. The municipality 's territory is mostly on Gahns, whereby only 3.39 km ² (13,5 %) can be used as a permanent settlement. The municipality borders on:

History

The first recorded settlement in the area of guarantees Vöstenhof took place in the 12th century by the Bavarians and Franks. The first stone houses date from the 15th century. It lived only Catholics in guarantees Vöstenhof. The area remains one of the parish Pottschach.

The history of the site has been heavily influenced by the lords of the castle from the " festivities yard" ( Castle Vöstenhof ). The oldest part of the castle dates from the 13th century.
