Burny Mattinson

Burnett " Burny " Mattinson ( born May 13, 1935 in San Francisco) is an American animator and screenwriter, best known for his work for Walt Disney and the Walt Disney Studios.

Life

Mattinson ended 1953, the High School and was a half year later hired as animator at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, having previously worked in the mailroom of the Walt Disney Studios. Since he had seen than five years in the cinema Pinocchio, he wanted as an animator - va Disney - work. The first film on which he collaborated, was Lady and the Tramp, which was published in 1955. Under Marc Davis Mattinson was then active as an animator on the film Sleeping Beauty, and finally part of the animation team under Eric Larson. In the 1960s and 1970s, he was an animator on films such as It's Tough to Be a Bird, Mary Poppins, Aristocats and Robin Hood. After Robin Hood was under Mattinson Animator Ollie Johnston, with whom he worked on this film Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. Frank Thomas finally caught up with him for storyboard of the film Bernard and Bianca - The Rescuers.

Only in the 1980s Mattinson was himself active as a director for Disney and developed his own ideas for films and wrote screenplays for Disney movies. For his directorial debut, Mickey's Christmas story, which he also produced and whose screenplay he wrote, Mattinson 1984 she received an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short Film. Other works have included Mattinsons Taran and the Magic Cauldron (screenplay), Basil, The Great Mouse Detective ( Director, Screenplay, Producer ), Beauty and the Beast ( Story) and The Lion King (Story).
