Camu Tao

Tero Smith ( born June 6, 1977 in Columbus, Ohio, † May 25, 2008 ibid ), better known under the pseudonym Camu Tao, was an American rapper and music producer.

Biography

Tero Smith grew up in Columbus, Ohio. In the 1990s he joined the Department MHz, which included the rapper Copywrite, Jakki da Motamouth, daily Proto and the producer RJD2. In 2001, he released his debut solo album Camu Tao Presents Blair Cosby: Cape Cod ( Going For De Gold), which in 2004 with the second part Camu Tao Presents Blair Cosby II: The Wali Era was continued.

Smith stood by the label Definitive Jux, Smash Bros., Fat Possum Records and Eastern Conference Records, where he joined the collective The Weathermen, along with Aesop Rock, Cage, El -P and others joined.

Along with Cage, he formed the duo Nighthawks, whose self-titled debut album appeared in 2002. S. A. Smash, a project with the rapper Camu Taos Metro, released his debut Smashy Trashy in 2003 on Definitive Jux. In addition to his work on another solo album from 2004, he focused mainly on music production and worked as the works of other Definitive Jux artists - with. He also appeared on several features of other rappers.

In 2006 he was diagnosed with lung cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy. He died in May 2008, shortly before his 31st birthday.

Was released in 2010 on Fat Possum Records posthumously his solo album King of Hearts, where Smith worked until his death. In the wake of the release of the album in 2005 by Tero Smith and El- P has been produced under the name of Central Services EP Forever Frozen released as a free download in Television Time.
