Canton of Cusset-Nord
Cusset - Nord is a canton of the arrondissement of Vichy in the Allier in the Auvergne region of France. It includes four municipalities, the capital is Cusset. Representatives in the conseil général of the department since 1979 René Bardet.
History
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 with the establishment of the departments as part of the then " district Lapalisse ". With the establishment of the arrondissements on 17 February 1800 the canton was again cut as part of the former arrondissements Lapalisse. On August 24, 1941 Vichy was assigned the management of the arrondissement instead of Lapalisse.
Geography
The canton is bordered to the north by the Canton of Varennes -sur- Allier, in the east to the Canton Lapalisse, to the south by the Canton Cusset -Sud and on the west by the cantons Vichy North and Escurolles.
