Canton of Dompierre-sur-Besbre
Dompierre -sur -Besbre is a canton of the arrondissement of Moulins in Allier in the Auvergne region of France. It includes nine municipalities, the capital is Dompierre -sur -Besbre. Representatives in the conseil général of the department since 2004 Roland Fleury.
History
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 with the establishment of the departments as part of the then " district Moulins ". With the establishment of the arrondissements on 17 February 1800 the canton was associated with the new district Moulins and re-cut.

Geography
The State is bordered on the north and northeast to the cantons Bourbon -Lancy and Digoin in the Arrondissement Charolles in the department of Saône -et -Loire (Burgundy), in the south to the cantons Le Donjon and Jaligny -sur -Besbre in the arrondissement of Vichy, on the west by the Canton of Neuilly -le- Réal and to the northwest by the Canton Chevagnes.
