Canton of Cusset-Sud
Cusset -Sud is a canton in the arrondissement of Vichy Allier in the Auvergne region of France. It includes eight municipalities, the capital is Cusset. Representatives in the conseil général of the department since 1998 Gérard Charasse.
History
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 with the establishment of the departments as part of the then " district Lapalisse ". With the establishment of the arrondissements on 17 February 1800 the canton was again cut as part of the former arrondissements Lapalisse. On August 24, 1941 Vichy was assigned the management of the arrondissement instead of Lapalisse.
Geography
The canton is bordered to the north by the North Canton Cusset, on the east by the District of Le Mayet -de- Montagne, in the south to the Canton Châteldon in the Arrondissement of Thiers in the Puy -de- Dôme, in the southwest to the canton in the Arrondissement Randan Riom also Puy -de -Dôme and to the west by the cantons Escurolles and Vichy Sud.
