The Cardiff Airport ( IATA: CWL, ICAO: EGFF; Welsh Maes Awyr Caerdydd ) is the international airport of the Welsh capital city of Cardiff. It is the largest airport in Wales. British Airways maintains a large service center here.

During the Second World War, the Royal Air Force took advantage of the system under the name RAF Rhoose as outer space land for pilot training the nearby station at RAF Llandow.

Airlines and destinations

Cardiff has besides connections to destinations within the United Kingdom and some European cities targets mainly on routes to holiday destinations in the Mediterranean such as Palma and Antalya. Long-haul flights are not offered.

Only German goal was from 2010 Munich, which was operated by bmibaby. This compound was, however, even before the foundation of the company was closed in Cardiff in the autumn of 2011 anyway, reinstated. Since May 2013, Lufthansa flies once a week in the summer season from Dusseldorf directly to Cardiff.
