Carlo Senoner

Carlo ( " Carletto " ) Senoner ( born October 24, 1943 in Selva di Val Gardena ) is an Italian former Alpine skier.

Senoner in 1958 admitted to the Italian national ski team. In 1959, he was Italian champion in giant slalom. He took first time in 1960 at the Olympic Games in 1961 and won the slalom and giant slalom of the 3 - Tre race in Canazei. The greatest success of his career, he celebrated at the World Cup 1966 in Portillo, when he became World Champion in slalom. He was the only one to break the winning streak of the French national ski team, which won all the other seven contests and was also the first Italian world champion since the Olympic victory of Zeno Colò 1952. After participating in the Winter Olympics in 1968, he ended his athletic career. Senoner today operates a hotel in Selva.
