Casimir II of Zator

Casimir II of Zator (* before 1450, † 1490 ) was from 1468 to 1490 Duke of Zator. He came from the Teschen branch of the Silesian Piast dynasty.

Life

Casimir. II parents were Wenceslas I and his wife Maria originating from Sewerien Kopczowska ( † after 1468 ). In 1482 he married Machna († 1508), daughter of Jägerndorfer Duke Nicholas V. The marriage came from the only son Boleslaw / Bolko, who was born 1489 and died about 1494.

After his father's death in 1465 inherited Casimir II and his younger brothers Wenceslas II, John V. and Wladislaus the Duchy Zator they managed first together. In 1474 they divided it into two parts, the boundary was the Skawa. Casimir II and the second-born Wenceslaus II received the eastern part, while the younger brothers Johann V. and Wladislaus the western part has been assigned. The town away from the Skawa lying Zator and its castle were also shared.

After Wenceslaus II 1484/87, died Casimir II was the sole owner of the east part of the Skawa lying Duche. During the probate dispute to Sohrau during the reign of the (anti ) - King Matthias Corvinus it was temporarily Casimir II

After his childless death in 1490 he was succeeded, under an agreement of 1477 the third-born brother John V as heir to the east of the Skawa lying sub-region.
