Cathérine Hübscher

Catherine Lefebvre ( born February 2, 1753, Goldbach - Altenbach, Haut-Rhin as Catherine Pretty, † December 29, 1835 in Paris) was a native of Alsace laundress and by marriage, she managed to climb the social ladder and received by her husband the title " Duchess of Danzig". Life

Pretty Catherine came from a modest and earned her living as a laundress in Saint -Amarin and Oderen. On March 1, 1783, she married François -Joseph Lefebvre ( 1755-1820 ), son of a police sergeant to Rouffach in Alsace. From their marriage, fourteen children were born, of whom only a son reached adulthood.
