Centaure

Centaure is the name of a French two-stage sounding rocket, consisting of a " Belier " starting stage and a "Venus " advanced.

The Belier was 230 times built and launched by Hammaguir, Reggane, CELPA, Salto di Quirra, Esrange, Thumba, Sonmiani and Andøya. The Centaure has a maximum payload of 60 kg, a peak altitude of 140 km, a takeoff thrust of 44 kN, a launch mass of 457 kg, a diameter of 0.28 m and a length of 6.02 m.

It was thus one of a family of solid-propellant rockets, which consisted of the Belier, the Centaure, the Dragon, the Dauphin and Eridan.
