Chen Rong (athlete)

Chen Rong (陈 荣Chinese, Pinyin Chén Rong, born 18 May 1988 in Hebei ) is a Chinese long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon.

In 2006, she was third in the Beijing Marathon, which she won with her personal best of 2:27:05 hours in the following year. In 2008, she finished fourth at the Xiamen Marathon in 2:27:09 and won in April at the Good Luck Beijing marathon, a test run on the original course of the marathon for the Olympic Games 2008. Chen was indeed nominated for the Olympic Marathon itself, but admitted shortly their place for Zhang Shujing.

At the Beijing Marathon the same year she finished second in 2:28:25, the Xiamen marathon at the beginning of next year, she decided to 2:29:52 for themselves.
