Chodov (Karlovy Vary District)

Chodov ( German Gängerhof ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located three kilometers southeast of Bečov and belongs to the Okres to Karlovy Vary.

History

At the site in the south of the Imperial Forest was located since the 16th century manor house, the castle of the captain of Petschau, Hans Georg goers, was awarded in 1567. In the 18th century came to the court a settlement, which received its name. Northeast of the village built in the early 19th century Anton Liewald from Bärringen a Vitriolhütte, which was rebuilt after its cessation after 1880 to a tourist restaurant.

On the gallows between Chodov and Bečov are the remains of Petschauer Scharf place of execution, on which there was the urban gallows until 1765.

1975 Chodov was incorporated into Bečov; Since 1992, the place is again automatically.

In the center of the 200-year -goers Hofer is beech. The natural monument has a height of 18 meters and a circumference of 4.20 m.
