Chris Carney

Christopher P. " Chris " Carney ( born March 2, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa) is an American politician. Between 2007 and 2011 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Chris Carney attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon until 1981. Then he studied until 1983 at the University of Wyoming in Laramie and then at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln political science. Since 1995 he is a member of the Reserve of the U.S. Navy. He was repeatedly activated for some time and used in crisis areas. From 1992 he taught the subject political science at the University of Pennsylvania, belonging to the school Penn State Worthington Scranton. From 2002 to 2004 he worked, even though he is a member of the Democratic Party, for the federal government under President George W. Bush as an analyst for anti-terrorism measures.

In the congressional elections of 2006, Carney was the tenth electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of the Republican Don Sherwood on January 3, 2007. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 2011, two legislative sessions. He was a member of the Committee on Homeland Security and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and in a total of three subcommittees. In 2010 he was not re-elected.

With his wife, Jennifer, Chris Carney has five children.
