Chris Columbus (filmmaker)
Chris Columbus ( born September 10, 1958 in Spangler, Pennsylvania) is an American film producer, director, screenwriter and writer.
Biography
At the age of 15, Columbus was inspired by the movie The Godfather to filmmaking. He attended the New York Film School, where his first screenplay was. After graduation Columbus made his breakthrough with his fourth script, Gremlins - Little Monsters, which was filmed by Joe Dante. He moved to Los Angeles and continued to write screenplays for Steven Spielberg ( The Goonies and The Young Sherlock Holmes ). His directing career began with the Columbus film Adventures in Babysitting. He is now with films like Kevin one of the most sought after Hollywood directors and producers and the general public - known The prickly nanny and the film adaptations of the first two Harry Potter novels - Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire.
In 1995, Columbus 1492 Pictures, the production company to produce from now on these films.
