Christian Fennesz

Fennesz, actually, Christian Fennesz ( born December 25, 1962 in Vienna ) is an Austrian musician, he lives alternately in Vienna and Paris.

Life

Originally a guitarist, among others, in the popular in the 1980s indie band mash, he started in the mid 1990s to make as a soloist laptop-based electronic music. Long closely associated with the Viennese label Mego, him 2001, the breakthrough came with the album Endless Summer, after which he joined the British label Touch. A typical characteristic of his style are based on e- guitar sound samples. His music can be assigned to the Clicks & Cuts loose genre.

Fennesz regularly works in co-operation, together with Peter Rehberg and Jim O'Rourke, he forms the trio Fenn O'Berg, with Zeitblom together the duo Golden Tone and Christof short man formation Orchestra 33 1/3 and other, mostly short-lived collaborations. Among other things, Fennesz works both in the studio and live together with Ryuichi Sakamoto. David Sylvian sang on Fennesz ' album Venice and interpreted on his album Blemish the Fennesz - piece "A Fire in the Forest". Regularly Fennesz composed music for ballets, installations and films.
