Christian Maggio ( born February 11, 1982 in Montecchio Maggiore ) is an Italian footballer who is since the summer of 2008 in Serie A during Napoli under contract. He plays preferred on the right wing, either as a defender or as a midfielder.

Career
Association
Maggio began his career with Vicenza Calcio. He was on 1 October 2000 in the match against AC Milan made his debut in Serie A. In the 2000 /01 season, he completed six league games at Vicenza and rose with the club at end of season from in the B series. In the following season, he came in 27 Series B games used this he managed a goal. After he came only five appearances in Vicenza Calcio in the season 2002/ 03, he joined in the summer of 2003 to Florence. When Fiorentina, he managed to fight for a regular place. He played in the first season, 40 league games and scored one goal. In the following two years, Christian Maggio not received as much match practice after he had been injured, and in the first round played only three league games, he was awarded for the rest of the season 2005/ 06 for FBC Treviso. He graduated from eleven league games in which he remained without a goal. He returned to Fiorentina, but was awarded for the entire 2006/07 season at Sampdoria. In Genoa, he was able to stabilize and recover from the injury. After 31 games and two goals in Serie A, the leaders decided to move its call option on Maggio and so he moved to the 2007/08 season definitely to Genoa. He succeeded his final breakthrough: In 29 games, he scored nine goals for the Blucerchiati. In the summer of 2008, he undertook the League rival Napoli. Also in Naples, he was responsive services. In Naples, he wears the number 11 thanks to the great performances in Naples Maggio was also an important player of the Italian national football team. In the morning hours of March 14, 2014, he suffered a pneumothorax and was taken to a clinic.
National
Christian Maggio has won several Italian U -18, U-20 and U-21 national team. For the Italian national team, he made his debut on 19 November 2008 under Marcello Lippi in the match against Greece. His competitive debut he played on 24 June 2010 at the World Cup in South Africa when he came off the bench in the final group game against Slovakia at halftime.
