Career
He played in the German U -21 national team.
Hallescher FC
Tiffert played in youth at Halle FC and changed at the turn of 1997/98 in the youth department of Tennis Borussia Berlin.
Tennis Borussia Berlin
On 24 March 2000 he made his debut in professional football and completed eight games ( two goals) for TeBe in the second league.
VfB Stuttgart
For the season 2000/ 01 he moved to VfB Stuttgart. In the Bundesliga, he scored nine goals in 136 games. Under Felix Magath and Matthias Sammer he was Rekordeinwechselspieler before he could be considered at the end of Sammer era as a regular player. In addition to the missions in Germany's top flight he was off and on for the reserve team of Stuttgart in the Regionalliga Süd active ( 17 games, 5 goals) also. In 2003, he was able to reach the runner-up with VfB. His first goal in the Bundesliga, he managed a 3-0 win against SC Freiburg on 17 November 2001.
Red Bull Salzburg
For the season 2006/ 07 Christian Tiffert moved for about 1.3 million euros to the Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, where he again met Giovanni Trapattoni, who had VfB Stuttgart trained for a short time in the 2005/06 season. With Red Bull Salzburg he missed in 2006 against the Spanish first division club FC Valencia a place in the Champions League. Also in the UEFA Cup was the team not far. One difference in the first round against the English first division club Blackburn Rovers. MSV Duisburg
For the 2007 /08 season Christian Tiffert played for MSV Duisburg. He came free transfer, signing a contract until 2010. During the first season he was part of the beginning of the starting lineup, but developed under then- coach Rudi Bommer a form crisis and was towards the end, only to reservists. In the following season the MSV played in the 2nd Bundesliga. Christian Tiffert was screened at the beginning of Bommer and should not be sold in the summer. However, a transfer did not materialize. As Rudi Bommer was suspended after 13 matchdays and Peter Neururer was hired as coach to Tifferts perspectives changed as a team. Under Neurer, who held much of the former U-21 national team, he was a member from the second half of 2008/ 09 to the root formation. There he developed in a short time a leading player and shot in the 5-3 victory against 1 FC Kaiserslautern his first goal in the "Zebra " Dress. In preparing for the 2009/10 season he was elected vice- captain of the team. He also was given the number " 10 " as the number back and no longer the usual "11".
1 FC Kaiserslautern
For the 2010/11 season changed Tiffert 1 FC Kaiserslautern. He signed a three-year contract, who was considered for both the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga. In his first season he became one of the top performers of the riser. So he steered among others, 17 assists and was in that season most frequent preparer of the Bundesliga. In addition, he scored two goals this season, while his first goal for FCK in a 3-0 home win against Borussia Mönchengladbach succeeded on October 30, 2010. The readers of the daily newspaper The Rhine Palatinate elected him FCK player of the year 2011.
At the start of the new season 2011/12 Tiffert was elected to the team committee and appointed by coach Marco Kurz captain. He took over from Martin Amedick and exchanged to Wolfsburg Srdjan Lakic. At his performance in the preseason Tiffert could not match 2011/12 usually. As Table FCK got down to the second division.
Seattle Sounders FC
July 27, 2012 Tiffert moved to the U.S. Major League Soccer Seattle Sounders FC Member. He signed a contract for three seasons. In March 2013, the contract on the part of the association has been terminated with immediate effect, a justification for this step was not the club. Neither Tiffert himself nor his advisers were set by the club over the contract resolution in knowledge.
VfL Bochum
On June 4, 2013 Tiffert signed a contract with VfL Bochum, who has 2015 valid until June 30.
National
Christian Tiffert denied 24 U-21 caps and 33 junior internationals. In 2000, he was able to reach the 3rd place at the European Junior Championships in their own country with the DFB. He also starred in the squad at the U- 21 Championship 2004 in Germany.
