Felix Bastian (born 9 May 1988 in Bochum ) is a German football player.
Clubs
The son of former sprinter Werner Bastian began in the youth of the SG Wattenscheid 09. He then moved to the VfL Bochum. He left in 2002 in the youth department of Borussia Dortmund.
Nottingham Forest (2005-2008)
In the summer of 2004 he moved from the U-17 team of Borussia Dortmund to England in the youth academy of Nottingham Forest. The former national champion Cup winners rose in the 2004/05 season from from the second division and had to compete with it in the third division for the first time since 54 years. Felix Bastian debuted on 29 October 2005, 17 years with a 1-0 home win against Bradford City in the first team of the club. The League One 2005 /06 ended Forest in seventh and thus missed the ascension play-offs only to a place. At the beginning of the 2006 /07, Bastian was initially not taken into account in the squad for the first team and moved in November 2006 on loan to unterklassigen club Northwich Victoria, where he also scored his first goal in his first game. From 22 March to 15 April 2007 he graduated third five league games for FC Gillingham and was substituted after his return from coach Colin Calderwood also at Forest. With the fourth place this time succeeded in gaining in the first play-off round against the fifth Yeovil Town. After a 2-0 away win in the first leg Forest lost the return match with 2:5 after extra time at the City Ground and missed again the ascent. In the first half of the season 2007/ 08 was followed on October 1, 2007, another change on loan to the fourth division FC Chesterfield. Until December 30, Bastian denied twelve league games and scored one goal. After a month in Forests city rivals Notts County followed from 14 February to 14 March 2008 his sixth and last change on loan to the trained by Paul Ince Milton Keynes Dons. After an unsuccessful trial with FC Schalke 04, he went with Forest in the Football League Championship on second-rate, but signed a new contract in Nottingham and was released from the club.
Young Boys Bern (2008-2009)
After several offers, he decided in July 2008 ultimately for BSC Young Boys as a new club. His first goal for the club he scored 10 August 2008 against Neuchâtel Xamax. SC Freiburg (2009-2012)
On 7 June 2009 Felix Bastian's changed ( 34 league games / 1 goal) for a transfer fee of about € 250,000 for the Bundesliga SC Freiburg promoted and managed as Fourteenth relegation in the Bundesliga 2009/10. The 2010/11 season denied the club even more successful and ended the season in ninth place in the standings. Bastian denied this time twenty-nine league games and remained without a goal. In the season 2011/12 SCF led to great danger of relegation; the first round is finished as Table. On 23 December 2011, the SC Freiburg announced for this reason that Bastian's a change of clubs has been suggested. Bastian was exempted from training and held then at his hometown club VfL Bochum fit. As of January 16, he trained with the second team.
Hertha BSC (2012-2013)
After Bastian had already agreed early January 2012 with Hertha BSC on a change for the summer of 2012, agreed on 26 January 2012, Freiburg and Hertha for an immediate change in the left-back. Bastian signed a contract until 30 June 2016. Regarding the transfer fee was not disclosed. With the Hertha he rose at the end of the 2011/12 season in the 2nd League from, but managed in the following season the direct resurgence.
VfL Bochum (since 2013)
For the season 2013/14, Bastian moved for one year on loan to his "home club " VfL Bochum.

National
In August 2009, Bastian was appointed by U21 national coach Rainer Adrion first time in calling forth the DFB. On 11 August 2009 he gave the game against the U-21 team of Turkey made its debut. His ninth and last international match, he completed on 2 March 2010 in a 2-2 draw against Iceland.
