Christina Beier

Christina Beier ( born June 9, 1984 in Manila, Philippines) is a former German figure skater.

Biography

Christina Beier was born as the daughter of a Filipino mother and a German father in Manila. The mother left her husband and children. Father Siegfried Beier returned shortly after the wall came down with the children back to Germany. So Christina came at the age of 6 years to Chemnitz. Just two months after his return to Germany Siegfried Beier died in a car accident.

Christina Beier grew then raised by relatives of the father, who worked in the Chemnitz ice rink. Here they also began figure skating and was Eistänzerin. She ran with her brother William Beier. At the age of 12, she moved with her brother to Dortmund to train there with Oleg Ryjkin ice dancing, because that has not been promoted in Chemnitz in 1996. They launched since TSC Eintracht Dortmund for.

In 2002 they won the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Beijing. In 2003, the pair 5 of the Junior World Championships was.

In 2004 they changed coaches and training venue and practiced now at Martin Skotnicky in Oberstdorf. Here, they were supported by Kati Winkler.

In 2005, they were as a couple German champion in ice dancing.

Christina Beier is currently sporting a soldier in the army.

In October 2005, Christina and William Beier third at the Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf. Also in 2005 6 at Skate America.

For the Olympic Games in Turin in 2006 they were able to because of the 13th place in the 2006 European Championship will not qualify.

2008, they were again after injury lay-off German champion in ice dancing.

Christina and William broke up in 2009. She ran in the 2008 /2009 season with the Junioreneistänzer Tim Giesen. However, this couple separated at the end of the season and Christina now trained again with her brother William.
